Mixed Media Collage

Here is a small mixed media collage I have done.

It started off as a canvas board from the dollar store, I had done a background with moulding paste, but didn't like it, so took the canvas off, and decided to use the board, as it had some texture to it. It is 6 in. By 8 in

Next step was to cover it in Black gesso, I then cut some old pieces of patterned paper and pu them on. I stenciled a background over that, then added another layer of black gesso, let it all dry.

Then I started looking for pieces for the collage. There are a number of elements:
Felt flowers, buttons, metal gear, metal flourish, metal grommet, metal bottle cap, paper flower, with corduroy brad, then a wooden guitar, cat, bird, flower, star, and heart rounded it all out. The butterfly is a die cut cut out of wood paper

I the. Glued them all on with gel medium and let dry over night, then I painted it all black once again.

After that was dry, I used a dry brush technique and painted some of it white, with cheap acrylic paint.
Before spraying with the inks I attached the butterfly, as I had left it off in order to get the black on the underneath, as well as on the pieces that would be under the butterfly
Then to finish it off I sprayed it with spray inks I made using re inkers and alcohol to the whole thing,
Colors of these were Marina Mist, Melon Mambo, and Garden Green. Oh also a bit of the gold glitz shimmer spray I had from Stampin up as well.

This is the before picture when I was laying it ou
